Kenchic’s Thika processing plant was built on a 24-acre site in Ngoliba, adjacent to the Thika-Garissa road, as a purpose-designed slaughterhouse with associated infrastructure. The facility on Kilimambogo Road in Thika, Kiambu County, runs a fully automated processing system governing every stage of production, from slaughter to packing, with strict hygiene controls throughout the chain. The plant holds FSSC 22000 food safety certification, one of the highest global standards in food processing.
CED provided civil and structural engineering services for the project. The result is a purpose-built poultry processing facility engineered to support automated production lines, strict hygiene requirements, and continuous food-safety-grade operations.
