Project Overview

Project Summary

M.P. Shah Hospital is a 217-bed medical facility on Shivachi Road, Parklands, Nairobi, operating as a not-for-profit Social Service League hospital for over 80 years. The hospital has undergone a series of new blocks and extensions, including:

  • Admin Block
  • Endoscopy Block
  • New Children’s Hospital
  • KPJ Medical Centre
  • Mortuary Extension
  • HDU Extension
  • Revamped main entrance, among others

The new Children’s Hospital offers paediatric care for infants, children, and adolescents in en-suite rooms designed to encourage parents to stay alongside their child, reducing anxiety and supporting recovery. The hospital has since gone on to become a specialised Childhood Cancer Centre and expanded further with the KPJ Medical Centre.

CED provided civil and structural engineering services for the project. The result is a series of purpose-built blocks and extensions engineered to support administrative, diagnostic, critical care, and paediatric functions across one of Nairobi’s most established medical institutions.
